From Schoolyards to Evacuation Routes: See What's Taking Shape Across Lake County

CLERC fire-safety projects across Lake County

From new defensible space around Riviera Elementary School to nearly 50 acres treated along the eastern edge of Clearlake, CLERC's work is taking shape in communities across Lake County. Nine projects are now complete, more than 200 acres have been treated, and 15 additional contracts have been awarded, but those numbers tell only part of the story.

See the progress in before-and-after photos, learn what is underway and planned through 2027, and find out how property owners can help move projects forward when a Right of Entry is needed.

Thank you for supporting the work we do throughout Lake County.

Congratulations to Dylan on His Promotion!

Dylan Turner, CLERC Project Coordinator

We're excited to share that Dylan Turner was recently promoted to Project Coordinator! Dylan joined CLERC in early 2026 as a Biological Technician, supporting nesting bird, botanical, herptile, invasive weed, and Mediterranean Oak Borer monitoring projects throughout Lake County.

In his new role, Dylan is taking on greater responsibility for planning and coordinating environmental projects, working with partners, landowners, contractors, and CLERC staff to help move projects from planning through implementation. His strong field background, GIS experience, and knowledge of natural resource management make him a great fit for this next step.

Congratulations, Dylan! We're excited to see him grow into this new role and continue making a positive impact at CLERC.
