CLERC Joins Partners for North Shore Restoration Project Public Meeting
|

On Wednesday, July 8th, CLERC gathered with our partners at the Mendocino National Forest, CAL FIRE, the Tribal Eco Restoration Alliance (TERA), and Patriot Restoration Ops (PROPS) for a public meeting at Robinson Rancheria in Nice to share the latest on the North Shore Restoration Project.
Our Stewardship Director, Tracy Cline-Meade, walked the room through this 40,000-acre, post-fire recovery effort in the 2018 Ranch Fire footprint, from the 72,000 trees planted this spring to the long-term work of tending the forest back toward a fire-resilient future.

Right now, CLERC has crews at work all across Lake County. We currently have 9 active fire mitigation projects underway, with another 6 contracts awarded and waiting to begin, and dozens more in the planning phase as we release new requests for proposals (RFPs) to our pre-qualified contractors every week.
These projects range from defensible space and shaded and non-shaded fuel breaks to roadside clearing that protects our evacuation routes. Together, they add up to a growing, coordinated push to reduce wildfire risk before the next fire starts.

Summer keeps rolling in Library Park! CLERC is proud to sponsor our next Concert in the Park on Friday, July 31st in Lakeport, featuring Tom Rigney & Flambeau taking the stage at 6:30 PM.
Stop by the CLERC booth to spin the wheel for fun CLERC merch, chat with our team about wildfire season safety and preparedness, and enjoy a great evening of music with your community. Bring a blanket, bring a friend, and settle in for a night of high-energy Cajun and roots rock under the summer sky.

Program Update
Community Chipping Is in Full Swing
Chipping events are happening across Lake County this summer and fall. Check the schedule to see if your neighborhood has a chipping day coming up, or sign up to request one near you. When six or more nearby properties register, we can often schedule a chipping day in your area.
Residents in the Cobb and Middletown areas receive chipping services through the South Lake Fire Safe Council.
