Ryan Farporte

Labratory Coordinator

Joining CLERC’s Lab in October 2025, Ryan, originally from Sacramento, CA, relocated to Northern California in 2009. He holds a BS in Soil Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, with a concentration in Environmental Management. Ryan has over two decades of experience in various water sampling and testing roles with the County of Santa Cruz, Mendocino County, and private laboratories throughout California.  Ryan holds a Permaculture teaching certificate and teaches mycology classes at events throughout Northern California throughout the year. Ryan has been involved in environmental cleanup efforts, including testing drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, petroleum contamination, geographic information systems, and mycoremediation.  In his spare time he enjoys 3D printing, mushroom hunting, flying drones (he is a licensed FAA Part 107 UAV pilot), and citizen science projects involving mycology.
